Interested in climbing towers for a living?

I always recommend against it. I'm not saying that you couldn't be on the road, make the climb, and do the work but that it is not the best trade to choose for a career because of the boom and bust cycles and little prioritization for climber work/life balance. Telecom is a wild industry, the cell side in particular is a system designed to separate carriers from liability through multiple levels of sub contractors with Turf Vendors at the top. Most of the profit is removed before the contract reaches the sub contractor who is performing the work, which can incentivize corner cutting and bad work practices. I have worked for legitimate companies on the cell side, shady companies, and well meaning but ill equipped companies. You could end up in a dangerous and bad situation and not even really know it til it's too late, and I don't want that on my conscience. I know there are training facilities out there and also good companies, many founded by former climbers themselves.
